Shu-ki
A moment to unwind in the city.
In Fujimichō, Itabashi, Shūki serves Chinese dishes ranging from set meals such as twice-cooked pork and pepper steak to à la carte plates to enjoy with rice or beer.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
One review describes a range of stir-fries cooked briskly in a wok, their generous seasoning making them a natural match for plain rice. In Fujimichō, Itabashi, Chinese restaurant 周記 (Shūki) has a menu with plenty of substantial options for lunch or dinner.
The set meals make it easy to choose a main: there is twice-cooked pork with a moderate kick, alongside pepper steak, sweet-and-sour pork and mapo tofu. Other combinations make the most of contrasting textures, including pork stir-fried with wood ear mushrooms and egg, and liver with garlic chives. The range also suits a casual meal on your own.
The à la carte selection is broad, from seafood dishes such as kuruma prawn in chilli sauce and prawns with mayonnaise to braised pork and spicy stir-fried chicken. Sichuan-style stir-fried honeycomb tripe, spicy stir-fried fried tofu and stir-fried pea shoots are among the dishes that could suit a drink or an extra plate for the table. Beer and other alcoholic drinks can be enjoyed with the food, and takeaway is also available.
Table service is provided, and payment is cash only. Reviews describe a lively, welcoming atmosphere, where diners can choose familiar Chinese classics without fuss.
